Tuesday
Buddhist monks
perform music and chants and create a mandala, or sand painting,
in honor of the visit. Opening ceremony at noon requires tickets.
Exhibit is free and continues through Oct. 23. Woodruff Physical

Concert of
traditional Tibetan music at 7:30 p.m. Michael C. Carlos Museum,
Emory University. Free, but tickets required.

UNITED NATIONS NATIONAL COMPETITIVE RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION
For U.S.
citizens seeking junior professional posts.
EXAMINATION CRITERIA (all must be met)
Be no
more than 32 years old as of December 31, 2008 (UN requirement).
Have at
least an undergraduate degree (advanced degree is an advantage but
is not required) in one of the following occupational fields or
related areas:
Information Technology Political Affairs
Program Evaluation Finance Environment
Statistics
Be
fluent in English and/or French, the two working languages of the
Secretariat. Knowledge of additional official languages of the UN
(Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) is a definite advantage.
NOTE:
Only the top 40 most qualified individuals will be allowed to take
the exam per occupational group.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 31, 2007

Examination will be held in February 2008 in New York City. Exact

Travel
